"The African Aphrodisiac Adventure"
A GH Parody - - Spring 1996

Chapter Thirteen

"It wasn't Lila, you old buzzard," snarls Luke as he accosts Edward down in Kelly's. Unable to find Edward the previous evening, Luke has practiced the line until he can say it with the same curled lip that marked his closet idol.

"You know it, I know it, and you know that I know that you know that......Hell, Edward, Lila wouldn't do it, and everybody knows it. This was a scam and I want to know who you're protecting! Did you do Damian??"

Edward, a crafty gleam in his eternally shifty eyes, makes one last attempt at looking innocent, "I didn't do Damian, as you so inelegantly put it, and if I knew who did it, don't you thing I'd tell you rather than shell out the big bucks that I'm spending to save Laura? Hell, if I thought we could pin it on AJ I'd cheerfully turn him in, but we're out of luck there. He was passed out dead drunk down on the docks that night."

Suddenly, Edward's eyes meet Luke's, and an instant bond of agreement is forged.

"DDUI?" Luke asks. "Doing Damian Under the Influence?"

"YES!" both men say, seeing an end to their mutual problems.

Can AJ be saved by anybody? Does anybody care? Keesha can be persuaded if she finds out the truth...Edward thinks. Even Ned can be brought into seeing that this is best for the family. He smiles. Laura free and AJ confined. Hmmmmmmmm

While our honeymooners honeymoon, and our various lovers love, Lucy is homing in on the light at the end of the tunnel as speedily as a moth makes for a flame.

And, the light, which is being carried by none other than superspy and agent extra-ordinaire Frisco Jones, catches her in its rays, a high-heeled honey hauling a** as if the fiends of hell were chasing her. Which, in her opinion, would have been the lesser of the evils.

A split second later, as Lucy jumps eagerly into Frisco's arms, knocking them to the ground, she realizes who he is. "Frisco!! Boy, an I glad to see you......Boy, are you glad to see me!! Uh, excuse me, but there are a couple of formerly dead guys after me, and well, since you're also a formerly dead guy, would you mind getting rid of them however you secret agent types do it?? FAST!! NOW!!"

Frisco is only mildly astonished, and not at hearing about formerly dead guys, a common occupational hazard for him. "What the hell are you doing down here?" he asks her. "I thought you were strictly uptown now."

"Well, I am, but I was kidnapped by this former friend of mine whom we buried a while back, and I guess that Laura didn't kill him after all because he's still alive and what the hell are you doing down here? Haven't you heard about Felicia and Tom? What do you mean letting her run wild all over the city? Frisco, she's gone absolutely nuts, and it was after she started seeing Tom Hardy!"

At that name, Frisco's eyes become alert. The vector. "And?" he asks.

"And then he jumped off the roof of GH - 'JUMP', that's going to be the name of my new fragrance, drives men wild. Seems like everybody is getting a little strange here lately. Even Kevin-ohmigod, Kevin! Ryan! Frisco, you've got to help me!"

But, our hero is lost in thought. Tom jumped?? Does that mean that the stuff is a ticking timebomb, forcing desperate victims to suicide? Horrified at the thought, Frisco is determined to act fast. But, how? What can he do? His mind racing, he decides to call for help. Who could he call on to thwart this dastardly scheme? Another formerly dead guy???? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

And so, my friends, I leave you to ponder these questions: Who is the formerly dead guy that Frisco is considering calling?? And, how soon will the other formerly dead guys catch up with Lucy? Is Frisco up to the task of dealing with the undead? Is undead the same as formerly dead? Or, would that be ex-dead? Will Luke and Edward be able to pin Damian's death on AJ, even though Laura is now free due to Felicia's knockout kiss? What will Rivera do when he finds, as he must, that Garcia didn't do Damian after all? How will AJ feel when he finds that he's accused of another crime that he can't remember committing? Will this scapegrace Quartermaine become the sacrificial lamb for a crime that he didn't commit? Would any of us care?
